Is AutoWeb, Inc. covered by California DROP?

Yes — in DROP scope. AutoWeb, Inc. is listed on the 2026 California Data Broker Registry. Registered data brokers must process deletion requests submitted through DROP, starting August 1, 2026.

Unverified: we have not confirmed this broker in DROP's own in-app broker list (that list is only visible inside DROP). Registry data last modified July 29, 2026.

Possible partial exemptions. This broker told the registry that it, or a subsidiary, is regulated by: FCRA. Information covered by those laws may be exempt from deletion, so a DROP request may result in a partial deletion or an “Exempted” status (see privacy.ca.gov). This is our reading of the broker's own answers, not a legal determination.

Additional comments from the broker

In 2024, all Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) submitted to AutoWeb were carefully reviewed in accordance with the CCPA and CPRA. Requests were denied only in limited circumstances, including when no responsive personal data was identified, when the request did not pertain to privacy rights under applicable law, or when the requester’s identity could not be verified (for example, due to an unconfirmed email address or phone number). To ensure proper handling, AutoWeb sought clarification from requesters when submissions were unclear, permitted authorized agents to submit requests upon receipt of valid proof of authorization through the DSAR form, and verified each requester’s identity via email or text message. Relevant systems were reviewed for responsive data in each case, and denials were issued only after these steps confirmed either the absence of matching data or an unverifiable identity.
